From Scratches to Scars

If you are a frequent reader of my blog you have realized that I have been through a lot when it comes to family. Things aren’t too much different. I still hurt, but what do I do with it? What Is your outlook? I can tell you one thing right now, when I feel pain, I look elsewhere for for my pain. I never look to God unless I am reminded or unless I have assistance.

Why is pain so important?

Because it draws you closer to the God who cares for your soul.

I was pretty down today because I thought my life was insignificant. I hit a rock when it comes to my depression. It then spirals down to potential suicide. I wasn’t at that place tonight, but it does happen, its a spiritual attack, and its real. But if you are a believer in Christ, be glad that He is on your side.

John 14:27 – Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.

I have a quote about pain by a well known author Kahlil Gibran. When I first heard this I thought it was a very touching poem. It also reminds me that God is there for you when you are thirsty, and He is always your comforter. Stay with Him, for He will never leave you or forsake you.

Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding.
Even as the stone of the fruit must break, that its heart may stand in the sun, so must you know pain.
And could you keep your heart in wonder at the daily miracles of your life, your pain would not seem less wondrous than your joy;
And you would accept the seasons of your heart, even as you have always accepted the seasons that pass over your fields.
And you would watch with serenity through the winters of your grief.
Much of your pain is self-chosen.
It is the bitter potion by which the physician within you heals your sick self.
Therefore trust the physician, and drink his remedy in silence and tranquility:
For his hand, though heavy and hard, is guided by the tender hand of the Unseen,
And the cup he brings, though it burn your lips, has been fashioned of the clay which the Potter has moistened with His own sacred tears – Kahlil Gibran

How do you cope with pain?

My daughter used to cut herself and we couldn’t get a real answer from her why she was doing it, but we convinced her to quit.

When I’m hurt,I normally become very angry and I can feel my heart hardening. Im angry at myself, but then I begin to look for a lesson in it all. I guess logic and reason is what I use.

  3. Quietly…usually…in my own head and heart until it overwhelms me…then…I may talk about it. I do take it to the Father…not always at first…but usually at some point…for I know only He can do anything about it.
